In Year 6 we have been learning about rooms in a house, so we used this knowledge to create Christmas sentences. We revisited our previously learnt Christmas vocabulary then I asked children to come up to the whiteboard (displaying an image of a particular place in the house) and stick a card cut-out of a Christmas object on it. The children then had to say a French sentence describing the scene e.g. ‘il y a un sapin dans le salon!’ More able children were challenged to add some further detail e.g. colours and sizes.
